Callaway X Forged 1020 Carbon Steel Wedge
Now I had been using some Srixon wedges for as long as I can remember, I’m not a great spinner of the ball so have never really thought about upgrading to a newer/better club. But this weekend I left them at home and borrowed one of these Callaway X Forged wedges, and to my surprise the difference was instantly apparent.
It never really occurred to me that my lack of ball control was as much if not more due to the wedges I was using than it was my swing. These Callaway wedges really held the ball well and have a really soft touch which meant around the greens the ball was doing everything I’ve always wanted it to.
The technology behind these clubs is that Callaway have introduced ‘Mack Daddy’ grooves that have been milled to their deepest depth and width providing ‘tour-level’ spin. Whilst the C-Grind Sole gives this X Forged Wedge versatile turf interaction by relieving the heel, toe and trailing edge, thus allowing you to lay the clubface open while keeping the leading edge down for maximum workability.
All in all an awesome club, cheapest I have found is £90 from Online Golf.

I’ve been looking around for an X-Tour and Tony Valentine Golf has new Callaway X-Tour Wedges (Chrome) reduced at £59.99 + delivery.
That’s by far the cheapest I’ve found.

Callaway X series, all the way. Nike has a good head, but it doesn’t quite compare withthe Callaway. I have looked into the Wilson Staff.
