The WGC Match Play Championship

Monday, February 18th, 2008

Looks like Monty is as good as out of the WGC Match Play Championship after he has been drawn against world number seven Jim Furyk. However British number one Justin Rose may take some relief after his draw against Rod Pampling.

There have however been three all European drawings seeing Luke Donald face Nick Dougherty, Paul Casey facing Robert Karlsson and worryingly for Soren Hanson he has drawn the worlds number two Ian Poulter, couldn’t resist.

Tournament favourite Tiger Woods faces JB Holmes after he replaced the injured Brett Wetterich.

The WGC Match Play Championship at the Gallery at Dove Mountain, Tuscon begins on the 20th Feb.

J. Lindeberg Creed Pima Polo

Friday, February 15th, 2008

trendytshirt1.jpgYet again another quality new addition to the J. Lindeberg clothing range. This 100% Pima Cotton polo shirt is a soft silky material which is going to be great for those spring and summer months ahead! With a contrasting white collar and sleeve cuffs this plain polo really stands out from the rest and with the simple J L logo adds a touch of class.

Not too bad either at £65 via Trendy Golf

Izzo Practice Net

Thursday, February 14th, 2008

Izzo Practice NetWant to bring the driving range to your back garden? Then this Izzo Practice Net looks ideal, and at half price seems quite a bargain.

The 10ft tall net provides better security for those stray balls which many other practice nets fail to cover, especially comparing it to others in this price range. The net comes flat packed which means it is easily packed away and stored during those cold winter months.

So if you can suffer the churning up of the lawn then practice nets are a great investment providing somewhere to practice every day without having to leave the house, and this Izzo net at just £49.99 seems a great example.

Swing Reminders

Wednesday, February 13th, 2008

Swing ReminderCould this be the game improvement tool for you? These Swing Reminders are made from a hardwood disk and act as a reminder whilst your out on the course to focus on the aspects of your game you need to improve.

The tokens double up as a ball marker and come in boxes of 25; the messages are varied to cover pretty much all aspects of the mental game on the course. Messages such as ‘forget the last shot’, ‘follow through’ ‘one shot at a time’ ‘3/4 swing’ are all designed to put you in the right mind set for your next shot.

I was lucky enough to be sent a sample of the Swing Reminders and I was very impressed. Although I’ve only used them once, I found that using them as a ball marker really helped me think about my next shot off the tee. Now I cant say that these will solve all my golfing glitches, but if nothing else they served as a reminder and an aid to develop a better thought process as I was approaching my next shot.

Overall I really like this idea, and I hope with some time I can transfer the thought provoking process they generate into an automatic routine for each shot I play.

A bargain then at only $15.99 and will ship to the UK.

Puma Leere Golf Shoes

Wednesday, February 13th, 2008

Puma LeereLooking for something a little different but keeping a traditional style? These Puma Leere golf shoes are a modern twist on a classic traditional style and I think they look awesome. The extravagant Kiltie is removable but I think this is so iconic of the golfing legends of the 50’s it has a style of its own!

Puma are offering a two-year waterproof guarantee and the new Champ Scorpion Stinger spikes and a full upper of full grain leather.

Cheapest I have found is £99 via Trendy Golf

#2 for Tiger after Dubai Classic comeback

Sunday, February 3rd, 2008

Will Tiger Woods make 2008 his unbeaten year? Well after the superb comeback to win at the Dubai Desert Classic who could say it can’t happen!?

After starting the final round four shots behind leader Ernie Els a string of birdies from Tiger meant Els needed a birdie on the 18th to take Tiger to a playoff. However Ernie, after a generally poor performance found the water and ended up two shots behind Tiger with a disappointing 71.

Second place went to 23 year old Martin Kaymer who finished 13 under after a final round 66.

Only a month into 2008 and already Tiger is walking away with it, would it be such a daft bet for Tiger to win everything this year? Well unless Ian Poulter reaches his full potential anytime soon, it might be a good bet!!
