J Lindeberg Classics

Wednesday, January 30th, 2008

JL CLassicsIt was a sad day at the weekend when I decided to replace my Adidas Tour 360 shoes. They have been an outstanding pair of shoes that haven’t let me down once since I’ve had them. However out with the old and in with the new… I went to the local pro shop and by far these J. Lindeberg Classics were the best looking shoes on the racks. They not only look great but they are so comfy too, this picture does not do them justice and they just look like such a quality shoe on.

The JL Classics have taken on a classic appearance and added some style and sophistication that has resulted in a truly striking shoe. I have got them in black and white but they are also available in all black which look just as great. They come with two sets of changeable CHAMP stinger soft studs and not a bad price at just £130.

Ping G10 Driver

Wednesday, January 30th, 2008

Ping G10Following a comment left from our post on the Taylor Made R7 CGB I felt obliged to take one of Ping’s new G10 Drivers to the range.

And although I am not a massive fan of Ping clubs I was much surprised (as I was by the Ping G5!!) that this is actually a very good club. Although it didn’t give the same excitement as I felt with the r7, the ping feels more reliable, has a softer feel and probably gave better consistency than the r7, but the r7 was so long and powerful.

The G10 I felt was very similar to the G5 with a slightly larger face and deeper crown, this has resulted in a higher MOI that combined with the 460cc head makes it a great club. I think if you were a fan of the G5 or G2 then this is going to be a popular choice, but I don’t think this driver compares the Titleist 907’s and the r7 CGB.

At only £170 from GolfDealers.co.uk it is over £100 cheaper than the r7, which is quite amazing!

Poulter will be Tiger’s number one contender

Wednesday, January 30th, 2008

You have to love Ian Poulter, even if he may well be way off the mark with his latest remarks that he will be Tiger’s biggest rival. Poulter currently ranked 22 in the world, suggested in ‘Golf World’ that once he hits his full potential that it will be just him and Tiger!

Don’t get me wrong I think Poulter is a great talent and a credit to British Golf but dismissing every other professional out there is a big claim, especially when he hasn’t in my opinion played any where near his ‘full potential’ yet.

Just looking at their career achievements, Tiger has won 13 majors and 85 titles, Poulter has just 7 tournament wins under his belt, but how I would love for him to prove me wrong and show the world what he is capable of when the pair meet on Thursday at the Dubai Desert Classic.

Tiger Forgives Tilghman’s Outburst

Friday, January 25th, 2008

Following the massively controversial comments by The Golf Channel’s Kelly Tilghman, joking that Tigers’ rivals should ‘lynch him in a back alley’ to cut back his world domination, Tilghman has now publicly been forgiven by the world’s number one in an attempt to put this behind them both.

Kelly Tilghman made the remark early in January to Nick Faldo when discussing the Americans domination over the world of golf. The comments lead to her temporary suspension from The Golf Channel while the matter was investigated.

Although now all seems to have been forgiven and Tiger has confirmed the pair have spoken and the ‘unfortunate’ choice of words seems to be an honest mistake this will surely be a sensitive topic we are bound to be hearing more of as the season gets underway! Tiger however has returned to action this week at the Buick Invitational in San Diego and will no doubt be looking to put all this behind him and concentrate on his golf!
