I was lucky enough this weekend to demo a set of these Burner XD Irons and what a fantastic set of clubs they are, not only do they look amazing but they are so consistent and surprisingly forgiving on the occasional miss shot, or two!! The best thing about these irons though is the noise they make when you really connect, I don’t know what TaylorMade have done differently with these irons but they just explode with a delightful ping.

The technology which has gone into these irons also makes for an impressive read, the irons are oversized which offers extra stability with a large offset and a medium sole width which results in a medium to high launch, making the irons easy to hit and provides some extra forgiveness. To generate faster, hotter shot speed TaylorMade has applied its SuperFast technology with a thin and flexible titanium face with inverted cone technology.

The only trouble is they are a little pricey at £550 but I think you can be reassured you are definitely getting what you pay for, these irons are probably the best I have hit in a long time! Suppose I had better get saving.
