Rose Claims Order of Merit after the Volvo Masters
Having just claimed the European Order Of Merit with a thrilling finish to the Volvo Masters at Valderrama, Rose already has his eye on picking up some majors in 2008. Rose sealed his victory after winning a three-way playoff against Simon Dyson and Denmark’s Soren Kjeldsen. This is Rose’s first tournament win since the Australian Masters in November 2006 and has lifted him to seventh in the world rankings.
Rose was clearly delighted with his performance which included a spectacular 196 yard hole in one and all whilst carrying a bug and feeling under the weather. However Justin was quick to dub this triumph as “The pinnacle of his career so far” and is already looking at the world number two spot as his next career goal.

He said he had to “dig deep” to win it, and it certainly showed. He did brilliantly to overcome the mental errors that came with the bug, though it did look like he might slip up at one point.
It was a brilliant win for him, it will be a massive relief to claim top spot again and it will be interesting to see how he progresses from here.
