TaylorMade r7 CGB Max Driver

Friday, November 23rd, 2007

TaylorMade r7 CGB Max DriverThe TaylorMade r7 CGB Max Driver is here and after a quick session down the range this is a quality bit of equipment! TaylorMade have introduced an extra long shaft which effortlessly generates much quicker club head speed, the forgiveness from the triangular head is surprisingly reassuring, but most impressive is the technical details which is going to make this driver a massive success…

The r7 CGM Max features three moveable weights to give you draw or fade and a whole range of other technology, which is designed to match this driver perfectly to your swing! The three adjustable weights give the r7 CGB Max an impressive 35-yard trajectory change from side to side. By placing the weight in the heel, it will create 30 yards of extra draw, placing the weight in the back and you will get a 15 yard draw, putting the weight in the toe will produce 5 yards of fade…. And so on!

Whilst the moveable weight technology sounds impressive TaylorMade have also introduced this triangular head shape, similar to the Titleist 907D1 and kicks out a substantial 460cc’s. The r7 CGB Max also incorporates the inverted cone core technology, an extremely high MOI and a deep centre of gravity allowing it to boast massive forgiveness and consistent distance.

TaylorMade Burner XD Irons

Sunday, November 11th, 2007

taylormade-burner-xd-irons.jpgI was lucky enough this weekend to demo a set of these Burner XD Irons and what a fantastic set of clubs they are, not only do they look amazing but they are so consistent and surprisingly forgiving on the occasional miss shot, or two!! The best thing about these irons though is the noise they make when you really connect, I don’t know what TaylorMade have done differently with these irons but they just explode with a delightful ping.

The technology which has gone into these irons also makes for an impressive read, the irons are oversized which offers extra stability with a large offset and a medium sole width which results in a medium to high launch, making the irons easy to hit and provides some extra forgiveness. To generate faster, hotter shot speed TaylorMade has applied its SuperFast technology with a thin and flexible titanium face with inverted cone technology.

The only trouble is they are a little pricey at £550 but I think you can be reassured you are definitely getting what you pay for, these irons are probably the best I have hit in a long time! Suppose I had better get saving.

Rose Claims Order of Merit after the Volvo Masters

Monday, November 5th, 2007

Having just claimed the European Order Of Merit with a thrilling finish to the Volvo Masters at Valderrama, Rose already has his eye on picking up some majors in 2008. Rose sealed his victory after winning a three-way playoff against Simon Dyson and Denmark’s Soren Kjeldsen. This is Rose’s first tournament win since the Australian Masters in November 2006 and has lifted him to seventh in the world rankings.

Rose was clearly delighted with his performance which included a spectacular 196 yard hole in one and all whilst carrying a bug and feeling under the weather. However Justin was quick to dub this triumph as “The pinnacle of his career so far” and is already looking at the world number two spot as his next career goal.

J.Lindeberg Noah Fieldsensor Polo

Thursday, November 1st, 2007

jlindeberg.jpgLooking for a bit of quality on the golf course? You can’t go far wring with J Lindeberg clothing and this new range of polo shirts are no exception. The Noah Fieldsensor Polo looks quality and is available in a range of colours but I think the white or the black look the smartest!

The shirt is 100% polyester and is made with a moisture transferring wicking material which is supposed to transfer the sweat away from the body! A little pricy though at £79 but you pay for what you get these days and J Lindeberg always looks good!
