Pure Putt Mirror

Thursday, September 27th, 2007

Pure Putt MirrorNow im certainly one of those golfers who cuts right across the ball on the putting green often meaning im dropping shots where I feel I should be picking up some points. I heard from a friend about this putting mirror and apparently it’s a great training tool, but you can be the judge of that!

The idea is that by placing your ball on the mirror you are able to correctly align your stance and posture in the shoulders, feet and head. This alignment is then supposed to help the perfect ‘pendular’ motion from the shoulders resulting in truer striking and a more consistent roll.

The cheapest I have found is from Online Golf at £15 so its not going to break the bank either.

Umbrella Plus

Wednesday, September 26th, 2007

Umbrella PlusNow this I thought was a great idea, often I have thought of getting a chipping net but have never got around to it but now the Umbrella Plus™ have incorporated it into an umbrella. Not only yesterday whilst waiting for my tee slot I was chipping balls into my carry bag and then today I come across this idea!

The umbrella works by inverting it and laying it down on its side, there are tags on the outside which can be secured to the ground with tees to support the three dimensional target area. The canopy itself includes two pockets which act as targets and the missed shots will gather at the bottom of the umbrella.

The technology that has gone into the umbrella also looks impressive so it looks like it wont let you down as an umbrella when you need it either, overall then it appears quite a bargain at only £19.99? Plus the umbrella can be personalised from the Umbrella Plus website direct with company and team logo’s!

European ‘No-Show’ at Solheim Cup

Monday, September 17th, 2007

I don’t think the European Team turned up for the singles at the Solheim Cup yesterday. Having posted a two-point lead I thought Europe were going to take it but The American’s truly swept us aside to claim the needed 14 points.

More shocking is that this is only the second time the away team have come out on top since the Americans did it as St Pierre in 1996.

Never mind!

Garcia vs Woods

Saturday, September 15th, 2007

An interesting comparison from the world’s number one to one of Europes’ finest. Interesting to note how far off Sergio is from the plane on his backswing, something I haven’t noticed having watched him play endless times!

Justin Rose is finally #1

Wednesday, September 12th, 2007

Justin Rose has finally battled his way to reach Britain’s number one spot after his fifth place finish at the BMW Championship with Tiger proving once again to be unstoppable and picked up his 60th Career title.

Rose who has always been tipped to be a great golfer has recently been playing some spectacular golf and hopefully there is still much to come. All that stands before Rose in the European rankings now is Padraig Harrington and Sergio Garcia who are 7th and 11th respectively.

True-Putt Putter

Wednesday, September 5th, 2007

True-Putt PutterThe True-Putt training aid has been designed with pure simplicity in mind; the semi-circular attachment exaggerates off centre putting strokes showing you just how far off the sweet spot your stroke truly is.

A perfect ball strike will come from striking directly in the sweet spot resulting in a true roll with no spin on the ball. Off centre strikes will hinder the stability and consistency in your putts, a miss of up to as little as 3mm from the sweet spot is enough to affect the distance and accuracy of a putt!

The True-Putt therefore has been designed as a simple visual aid to analyse your putter swing and ball striking. And at only £5.99 seems a great investment when you look at the prices some of the other training aids on the market!

X3R Remote Controlled Electric Golf Trolley

Monday, September 3rd, 2007

x3r-caddy.jpgPossibly the most stylish electric golf trolley I have seen, and the X3R is fully remote controlled. The remote allows the trolley to move backwards, forwards, faster and slower and from left to right all form up to 50 meters away too.

The trolley even comes complete with an emergency brake and four different cruise control speeds. The trolley collapses and opens on one effortless action and looks amazing both folded down and fully opened.

This trolley hasn’t won trolley of the year for 3 years running for no reason! X3R Remote Controlled Electric Golf TrolleyBut then again it is a tad expensive at a snip under £1,000, but it will certainly put the PowerKaddys about the course to shame!
